Establishing Evidence

Why do lab testing?

At Opti-Balance we offer a number of diagnostics and assessments.  The doctor may require conventional laboratory tests (eg. blood work) and/or imaging to best be able to help you.

After gathering a medical history and doing a physical exam, the doctor may require more information to come to a diagnosis.  Copies of lab work from seeing other professionals is always useful.  However, in some cases more testing is called for.  Dr. Macart may send you to a local private lab to complete more blood tests.  Conveniently, with the advent of my ehealth, many patients can access their test results right away and make informed decisions about their health care.

Imaging not provided to you by the MSP system may steer you to pursue private medical imaging services that accept Dr. Macart’s requisitions.

More specialized testing, not generally done in the allopathic healthcare system, may be selected according to your individual case.  Many such tests can be done either in our clinic or at home with an easy to follow kit.  Our staff will be happy to guide you through any steps required to fulfill this health investigation.

First Steps...

I'm inspired, let's begin...

1.  Call Dr. Macart’s office Opti-Balance at 250.752.2711 and book a time to meet with her to begin sharing information about what’s going on for you.  No time like the present to start learning and healing – Let’s strike while the iron is hot!

2.  Download and print off an intake form.  This form streamlines the gathering of your medical history and provides a framework for Dr. Macart to understand your goals and priorities concerning your health.  Together, you can focus attentions where they’ll do the most good because your individual nature has been taken into account.

3.  Collect as much medical history as you have in your possession.  You may wish to consult with your other medical professionals and collect recent relevant data such as blood work and or medical imaging. If necessary, we may update or pursue fresh data pertinent to your case which can be discussed during the intake.

4.  Create an exhaustive list of medications and natural products that  you are using so Dr. Macart knows what is in the mix before adding to or subtracting from it.  Eventually, your regimen will be tailored to your needs.
