CounsellingAlternate Perspectives and Feedback
What is involved in counselling?
In practicing wholistic medicine, sometimes it becomes evident that psychological issues are interfering with health attainment. Be it current stress or deep seated emotional baggage, many patients benefit from a compassionate ear and a non-judgemental atmosphere to help process their issues. At Opti-Balance, we try to streamline counselling by being largely solution oriented. Clients are encouraged to examine parts of their lives in order to gain new perspectives, reduce confusion and process difficult feelings like fear, anger and resentment. Sometimes new ways of approaching or understanding situations are explored so that positive changes in attitudes and behaviours lead to a better quality of life. No matter what the outcome, the aim is to help the patient make their own choices and decisions and act on them accordingly.
